Senior Emily Farr sprints back onto the basketball court as she makes a defensive rebound against a Westview wolverine after her recent knee injury. It was a tough loss but she strives to do better in the next game.
Farr pushes herself physically and academically. She has maintained a 4.3 GPA for the past four years. She leads her team with a positive mindset and great sportsmanship. Fellow teammate sophomore Elle Chapman agrees Farr is a great leader on the court.
“She helps everyone know their spot on the court,” Chapman said.
Farr has been playing basketball for four years and she has been on the Varsity Girls Basketball team since her freshman year Chapman says, “She asserts her seniority and dominates the court as she shows other girls how it’s done”. Farr enjoys the sport because it’s been a part of her life for a long time and she enjoys great sportsmanship. Farr says Farr has also played on the Varsity Girls Tennis team.
As a junior, she scored 23 total points and got 23 rebounds. This season . . .
She has enjoyed playing this season in particular because of her team.
Farr has been sidelined with multiple injuries, but she finds other ways to contribute to the team.
Varsity Girls’ Basketball and PE Coach Carissa Jones-Fletcher thinks Farr has pushed her team to be the best they can be.
“She shows her teammates multiple ways to contribute to the team whether it’s on the court or off the court,” Jones-Fletcher said.
Farr plans on attending a four year university after high school as she pursues a degree in business.
The varsity team has a 4-18 overall record and is currently ranked #2 in San Diego D1.
