The journey to CIF was not easy; it was a testament to Senior Emma Bush’s dedication to her skill and game. From navigating a tough season, she turned these obstacles into opportunities. Now Bush is ready to bring her A game to the CIF San Diego Section Division I championships. While the season may be over for some of the golfers, Bush will progress to CIFs, the first round starting Nov. 3 and concluding on 5. The team has high hopes that Emma will place well. The team did not claim any wins this year, but members still describe the season as nothing short of amazing. “Although the losses are not ideal, the memories made are what matter most,” junior Quinn Lawrence said. Lawrence’s favorite memory came during the alumni
tournament. “Me and Lana rode the golf cart around for hours and onto the tennis courts,” Lawrence said. Junior Sunshine Sapin, agrees that while the scores have not been the greatest, the experience has been meaningful. “This season has been going badly when it comes to scores, but the team bonding has been great as we are a small team, so we can get toknow each other very well,”Sapin said.
The season began in late August and concluded in mid-October, with the team competing twice a week in a total of around twelve matches: 11 league and
three non-league. On Oct. 9, the Titans lost 258-191 to Del Norte High School. Again, on Oct 13, they lost to Del Norte 256-192. On Aug. 25, they lost 259-200 to CathedralCatholic High School.
“There were a lot of beginners on this year’s team. Hopefully they enjoyed the season and plan to build on what they learned and come back next year ready to take the team to the next level,”
Varsity Girls’ Golf Coach James Cassidy said.
He hopes more people will join the team next year, and encourages those with an interest in golf to start nowto ensure they gain the skills necessary for next season.
