Reading is a joy, and bibliophiles do not want to miss out on fantastic novels. 

Misery by Stephen King was published in 1990, and it focuses on famous author Paul Sheldon, who has been kidnapped by a “superfan” after being crippled in a car crash. A gripping horror story, it follows Sheldon’s struggles and triumphs in the house of his captor. Every page is full of excitement and action, making it very difficult to put down.

The Woman In The Window by AJ Finn, released 2018, is similarly horrifying, but there is more suspense and thrill. Anna Fox, a woman who is too scared to leave her house, witnesses a murder across the street, and she is desperate to convince the police to help. Meanwhile, the unknown killer is free to roam, as nobody is looking for them. Fox, stuck in her house, devotes herself to unraveling this mystery.

For readers who prefer a light-hearted book, What If It’s Us by Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli, released in 2018, is a great choice. Ben and Arthur, two New York strangers, slowly grow closer as time goes on. Filled with humor and romance, this book is a fantastic mood-lifter, as well as an easy read for new readers, or those who struggle with focus.

Another adorable romance is Eleanor & Park written by Rainbow Rowell, published in 2012. This novel follows the two high schoolers through their ups and downs. Their struggles are both relatable and interesting, and everyone can see themselves within the characters in the book. 

Bookworms who are still trying to figure themselves out will enjoy Every Exquisite Thing by Matthew Quick, published in 2016. Nanette O’Hare is an average teenage girl, at least until she reads her new favorite book written by a strange author. The thoughts and ideas in that book lead her down a path that changes her life forever. 

The Inheritance Cycle, a four-book series published in 2002, is a set of fantasy stories written by Christopher Paolini. Readers enter the land of Algesia and meet the monsters who lurk there. Eragon, the first book in the series, introduces readers to Eragon and his dragon Saphira as they defeat the demons of the land, as well as the demons within themselves.

From horror to fantasy, Titan bibliophiles have many options to explore this year before the next books come out. Waiting is a game that nobody has to play; mental energy can be put into absorbing new plots and information.
