Biology teacher Marla Brewer has worked at Poway High School for 32 years and now wants to have time to travel.
“I want to go to Egypt and see the pyramids, and I want to volunteer at a preserve in Africa,” Brewer said, “I have always followed my dreams, and I have no regrets.”
Before Poway High, she worked at the Safari park for eight years and also at the University of Michigan in the Medical school.
Nine Poway High teachers are retiring this year, closing out careers that span decades. Combined, they represent well over a century of service to the Poway community. Their impact has reached thousands of students across generations. Also retiring this year are Pamela Groff and Karen Kawasaki-Williams.
