Before the bell rings and the quad fills with students, junior Kyle Sosnowski is already thinking about what comes next. Assemblies, speeches, and student voices are all part of the job he’s preparing to take on.
As the incoming ASB president, Sosnowski spends much of his time watching over other members of ASB. He helps guide responsibilities, answers questions, and acts as a resource for students working behind the scenes.
Kyle Sosnowski has been actively involved in ASB for six years, starting in sixth grade and continuing throughout high school. He has served as both freshman and sophomore class president, showing consistent leadership and dedication to student representation. In addition to his presidential roles, Kyle also worked as a pep rally commissioner, helping plan and lead school-wide events that build spirit and bring students together. His long-term involvement and experience make him well qualified for his role in ASB leadership.
“I’m kind of overseeing everyone else in ASB and making sure they know what their job is,” Sosnowski said. “If they need help, I’m their biggest resource.”
Beyond organization, visibility is a major part of the role. Sosnowski regularly attends school events and often serves as a familiar face on the microphone, welcoming students and families alike.
Looking ahead, Sosnowski is especially excited for the first-day-of-school assembly. Planning begins months in advance, and the event sets the tone for the entire year.
“I’m most excited to give a speech and talk to the whole school,” Sosnowski said. “That’s the most hyped assembly of the year.”
Participation remains a major goal for ASB. Sosnowski hopes to design events that appeal to a wider range of students, including those who may not usually attend school activities.
At the same time, the role brings challenges. Balancing leadership responsibilities with academics and two sports will require careful time management.
“His experience and ability to communicate with a wide range of students stood out during the election,” said ASB Advisor, Erica Rangel.
Although he has not officially stepped into the position yet, Sosnowski says he has already changed how he views leadership. Meetings, interviews, and long-term planning have revealed how much effort happens behind the scenes.
Sosnowski looks forward to meeting new students and leading with approachability. For him, leadership starts with being present.
