Fall sports wrap up

Varsity Football is currently 6th in the Avocado League. being led by their Head Coach Kyle Williams. They have a 3-5 record going into their game against El Camino.
The top player receiving yards per game and total touchdowns is junior Jack Davy. Senior Kliko Ekiko has grossed the highest amount of sacks.
Junior Ty Hurst has the highest number of passing touchdowns and competition percentage Sophomore Luke Jorgenson has the most rushing touchdowns.
Senior Tobiah Araujo has the most fumble recoveries. Varsity Football’s best game was against Ramona on Sep. 8 where they won 35 to 34.
Poway was down almost the whole game until they made a remarkable comeback by 1 point.
Girls’ Volleyball going into their Oct. 25 game had a 19-14 record led through their season by coach Breezy Ambort.
Senior Grace Judd leads the team in attacking and serving. Senior Courtney Carpenter has the most blocks. Senior Grace Judd has the highest number of digs.
Girls varsity volleyball had a great game against rivals Rancho Bernardo on Sep. 13 winning 3-0.
Girls’ Field Hockey faced a total of 15 teams, with 13 wins and two losses. They are ranked second in Avocado League.
Senior Anjolie Norton has the most goals and points. Junior Sophia Grimm has the most assists. Tyra Neptune has a shoutout for the moststeals, saves and shutouts.
They are close to winning the league. On Oct. 16 they beat San Marcos, a close and aggressive team (3-1).
Boys Varsity Water Polo is in 2nd place in the Palomar league.
Coached by Austin Farkas, they have a 1-2 record in league games and 9-6 record overall.
One of their best games was against San Pasqual on Aug. 29, winning 20-5.
Varsity Girls Tennis is currently third in the Palomar league. Led by coach Phillis Dattilo, they have an overall record of 12-5 and a league record of 5-3. In the “First Serve Tournament” at Valhalla High School, thirteen teams entered and Poway won.
Junior Juliana Chaidez, has played 38 sets and won 21 this season. Chaidez has a game-winning percentage of 80 percent.
