     The Poway Titans started off strong in the winter season from wrestling to soccer to basketball. Here is the latest on each individual team:

     Boys’ Basketball opened their season with a tournament win over Oceanside (52-48). They dropped their next two games to Victory Christian Academy (59-69) and St. Augustine (30-69), but followed up those performances with wins over Mira Mesa (71-35) and Helix (60-40). Since then, they dropped back below .500, suffering defeats from La Costa Canyon (53-64) and Torrey Pines (41-71).

     Poway owned a 10-7 overall record through the first month of the season. They will play at Del Norte on Wednesday, Jan. 11 to open Avocado League play.

     Girls’ Basketball started the season winning their first four games against Victory Christian Academy (62-47), Francis Parker (61-55), Bishop’s (73-40), and Otay Ranch (62-27) to win the Matador Classic. They fell to Scripps Ranch (65-71) in double-overtime on Nov. 30 to open the Tip-off Classic. Since then, they defeated Carlsbad (47-46) and Rancho Bernardo (50-32) before falling to Westview (36-58) on Dec. 13.

     The Titans opened the season 12-2 through their first 14 games of the season. They open the Avocado League season Tuesday, Jan. 10, visiting San Marcos.

     Roller Hockey began their season with a 3-2 record with wins over Westview (6-2), Escondido Charter (5-0), and Scripps Ranch (4-3). Their league schedule continues Wednesday, Jan. 11 against Cathedral Catholic at the Escondido Sports Center.

     Boys’ Soccer began the season with two consecutive shutout victories over Carlsbad (3-0) and Point Loma (2-0) in the Parker Cup. They dropped their next two matches against Eastlake (0-1) and Sweetwater (1-3). The Titans took down Rancho Bernardo (3-2) on Dec. 13 in a non-league away match.

     Poway began the season 5-2-1 and open Palomar League play with an away game on Tuesday, Jan. 10 against Oceanside.

     Girls’ Soccer opened their season with a tie to Mira Mesa (0-0). In the Butch Lee Tournament, they defeated Helix (3-1) and Mt. Carmel (1-0) before suffering defeats from Temecula Valley (0-3) and Del Norte (0-2) to conclude the tournament.

     The Titans were 3-4-1 after the first month of the season. Their Palomar League slate begins on Tuesday, Jan. 10 with a home 7 p.m. kick off against San Dieguito Academy.

     Girls’ Water Polo lost their first two games of the season to Helix (9-17) in a non-league game and Rancho Bernardo (5-15) in the RB Invite. They won their lone game of the RB Invite against Fallbrook (9-8), but capped the invitational with defeats from Coronado (6-10) and La Costa Canyon (0-5). They rebounded with a large victory over Classical Academy (22-5) at home on Dec. 6.

     Poway went 5-8 to begin the season and open their Palomar League slate on the road against Carlsbad on Tuesday, Jan. 10.

     Boys’ Wrestling opened their season with first-place wins at the Sidney Eagle Invite and the Reno Tournament of Champions. They play at home for the first time with a dual meet against Rancho Bernardo on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m.

     Girls’ Wrestling began their season with a 12th place finish in the Reno Tournament of Champions. They will return Thursday, Jan. 12 with a home dual meet with Rancho Bernardo at 5 p.m.
