Imagine constantly being on the run, never knowing where you are going to sleep or live, fighting for your life day in and out. Season four of Outer Banks on Netflix returned after two years of fans waiting for a new season.
The show follows a group of teen Pogues, the poorer side of the island, who try to find treasure that has been lost for decades. They face many complications like being terrorized by the Kooks, a group of wealthy teens, and getting hunted down by police.
The new season starts with a happy beginning. The Pogues have just found the gold treasure and their lives are at peace, but their luck quickly takes a turn as they put their lives on the line, running from their enemies.
At first, I did not like the first episode because there was not a lot going on. It was slow paced and did not keep my attention. I was pleasantly surprised when it took a turn and became more interesting with the teens running from danger. For example, the situation where the characters JJ and Kiara were escaping their enemies at the beach.
But, I think the show has repeated itself too many times. Every season starts with the teens trying to find a treasure and ends with them finding it and being happy.
It would be nice to see how they live their lives without hunting for treasure or gold.
Viewers could watch how the drama in their lives unfolds which is just normal teenage drama.
The whole show is always them solving a mystery or finding treasure, and it always ends with them finding it. My favorite characters are Kiara Carrera who is a Pogue and Rafe Cameron who is a Kook. I like Kiara because she is very different from the rest of the Pogues and for the most part is only focused on being there for her friends instead of only focusing on the gold treasure.
However, I do like how they are not adding too many new characters to the storyline. So far they have only added Cleo Grant, who joins the Pogues. She is a good addition to their treasure hunting team.
I also enjoyed seeing how all of the teens’ relationships with each other have progressed. For example, John B and Sarah Cameron’s relationship grows over the seasons. Overall, I think the first part of the new season is good, and I would recommend it.
