As Cross Country Captain crosses the finish line in 1st place in their first meet of the season, the titans start off the season hot. In their first race at the Bronco Roundup race on Aug. 24, they did well, with junior Cooper Castleberry placing first for varsity boys with a time of 9:48 and freshman Dylan Nash placing first for freshman boys with a time of 10:49. Ally Santavicca finished ninth in the girls’ varsity race with a time of 11:51. Both of the top 3 in Mens and Womens in the top 25 for their respective spots. “So far we’ve faced our toughest competition in our CCA race,” said Castleberry.

A good warm-up is essential to increase performance and endurance in a race. “Warm-ups are important so you don’t get hurt,” sophomore Landon Greene.
Head Coach Ronnie Harris prepares his team with necessary easy and hard days varied throughout their workouts, so come race day their legs are feeling strong and ready to run, “seeing the kids put in effort is an indescribable feeling,” Harris said.
He said his favorite part of being their coach is helping them improve and put in the work to improve.They look to keep moving forward strong, on a hot streak lately placing high in all of their races.
