Upcoming pop star Olivia Rodrigo had recently gone through a terrible heartbreak and decided to share her experience through a song called “Driver’s License.”On top of that, there have been assumptions since the release.

As the song is now hitting the top of charts on all platforms such as Spotify, iTunes, and Apple Music, fans are realizing who the song was really about and wondering if there is a love triangle occurring.

It was announced that the song “Driver License” was in fact about her ex-boyfriend, Joshua Bassett. The two were co-stars on the show High School Musical The Series, where they showed some unbelievable chemistry. With that chemistry, it almost made it almost impossible for fans to see their favorite couple split up. Fans were more interested mainly because of the relation of heartbreak, and the emotion it brought from the song.

Rodrigo’s lyrics include, “She’s everything I’m insecure about, Yeah, today I drove through the suburbs, ‘Cause how could I ever love someone else?”

Within the first week of the song’s release, it receives over 4 million streams every day and streaming numbers are continuing to grow.

Shortly after it started to become popular all over social media. former pop star Sabrina Carpenter released a song called “Skin;” her response to “Driver’s License.

Carpenter’s lyrics include,  “Want my heart to be breaking, breaking, no, I’m happy and you hate it, hate it, oh. The whole song was her accusing Olivia Rodrigo of being jealous, but in reality, was just upset that she had lost her first love.

“Skin”  seemed to confirm those questions to who exactly came between Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett. Fans were not happy with Carpenter’s response, although it is a catchy song fans were shocked that she had targeted Olivia.

Carpenter’s lyrics include,  “Want my heart to be breaking, breaking, no, I’m happy and you hate it, hate it, oh. The whole song was her accusing Rodrigo of being jealous, but in reality, was just upset that she had lost her first love.

Sabrina’s response got fans talking but now people are saying that it was the plan all along. People noticed how close the songs were released by a two-week difference which created suspicions.

Even though it wasn’t confirmed that it was a publicity stunt, there was still drama that came about and overall both songs were written by two talented artists to share their side, but few will know what really happened.
