A group of misfits are pulled out of Earth into a realistic video game, and they face many challenges, like retrieving the orb of dominance in order to find their way home.
The Minecraft video game is a staple of most childhoods. When Minecraft announced they would be making the game into a movie, fans have been raving about it for months.
A Minecraft Movie, released April 4, is a great movie for everyone because you do not need to understand the video game in order to understand the movie. I loved it because the plot was very clear on who they wanted to defeat, the piglins from the Nether.
The movie gained a lot of its popularity through social media. Many people created memes that became viral, one being known as “chicken jockey,” which Jack Black’s character, Steve, says in the movie when a baby zombie rides a chicken, like a horse, in the boxing ring. This and many other memes
inspired many people who were not originally interested in watching the film. The people in my theater would clap every time they recognized a meme in the movie.
While watching the movie, I never felt bored or tired, it was quite entertaining. Steve was constantly making jokes, which kept me entertained.
The directors were able to successfully portray the Minecraft video game as a movie. They did this by making the animals, with their square faces, look the same as they do in the game.
I would recommend everyone watch this movie because it was funny and not super long. It definitely worth the time and money.
