Addie Queen sets up the single-out pep rally, helping two people from Rancho Bernardo match with two people from Poway.
Queen ran for ASB President and promoted herself all over the school and on social media. Her hard work paid off when she won the election on February 26th.
The junior is not new to the ASB lifestyle. Queen has been active in ASB since she was in elementary school. She helps plan and set up events such as prom and homecoming.
In order to promote herself for the elections, she made all of her social media posts and videos weeks in advance, She posted multiple times on apps such as Instagram and Snapchat to make sure that her name was known throughout the school in a positive way. She even went as far as to hand out crowns to students.
The election had to be done twice because there were some technical difficulties. Not everyone’s video was shown on Titan TV the week before February break, so the elections were re-run after.“Addie always brings people up and helps others whenever they need it. She is an amazing fit for ASB president and is super spirited and makes fun things happen”. Meila Ficco, a friend and ASB classmate, said.
Queen is excited to have a larger leadership role on campus and to give speeches at 8th-grade family night and the first-day-of-school assembly. She is excited to be a leader that people can look to if they need anything at the school.
The election had many positive outcomes for Queen that didn’t just include winning.
“I talked to a lot of new people, and it was nice to meet new people because I was able to connect to people I wouldn’t have gotten a chance to meet if it wasn’t for the election,” Queen said.
Queen will work with the new senior Class President, Kayline Le, with whom Queen has worked side-by-side with Addie in ASB throughout high school. She met Addie in 8th grade ASB. This past year, Le served as Addie’s junior class vice president.
“Addie is the hardest worker that I know. She is so well-rounded, and she is able to balance softball, ASB, and her academics, all while being such a sweet person. She is beautiful inside and out,” Le said.
