Green Out, Green Out, Green Out, why are there so many Green Outs? This year ASB’s mission is to encourage school spirit, consisting of getting more people involved with wearing Green on Fridays. This helps Poway stay united and keep up the Titan spirit. I think this many green outs is necessary to show how much as a whole we support Poway High School. It also avoids the conflicts with some of the other themes such as black out, white out, and U.S.A.
One way we show off how much spirit we have is through football games. At football games, we’re there to represent our school and what better way to do that than through the themes assigned for the games? Green Out symbolizes how our school is one, and, if everyone participates in Green Out, it gets the players pumped up for their game and makes the whole atmosphere a more positive place. Varsity receiver William (Will) Hawkins explained, “The crowd helps give me motivation to make plays and keeps the energy up,” Hawkins said
As much as students love a Green Out it is always fun to switch it up. Green out has always been one of Poway themes but this year is the first time Green Out has been reoccurring almost every game. But with this change has come lots of controversies.. “I don’t like green out every game because its basic, but its more exciting to have other themes, ” Junior Hailey Hagerstrom said.
Although themes are fun ultimately we go to football games to represent Poway High Schools by wearing its colors. By sticking with Green Out shows off our spirit and love for our community.
