Raising her fist in the air she stomps yelling out cheers into the bleachers, as she’s wearing titan gear from head to toe. Fulfilling out her passion of bringing us titan students together, Sophia Grimm is making us all proud.
Ever wonder who’s leading the Titans in school spirit? Look no further than the Titan Terrors. Titan Terrors is led by a cabinet of four ASB students, Seniors Grimm herself, Gavin Nohara, and juniors Celeste Atienza, and Brody Chapman. Their goal is to bring as many people as possible to more popular sports like football, while also helping smaller sports gain their own student sections and support.
Grimm started Titan Terrors just by making an Instagram account her Sophomore year, but she is now the face of pep rallies, and student sections. Aiming us students to come together as a community with Titan pride. Grimm wanted to become a leader because she wanted to make sure all of our student athletes were being encouraged and supported for all their hard work and dedication. She also really enjoys the experience of being able to lead such a vibrant and exciting student body. Along with being a Titan Terror Leader she is also a dedicated student athlete on our varsity girls field hockey and on a club team. Her favorite subjects include ASB and AP Lit.
Grimm’s favorite part of being a Titan Terror leader is “being able to engage with a crowd. You get a really different experience of a football game instead of just being in the stands. You get to actively be involved, and it’s just a lot more fun especially with the group we have.” This dedicated group dresses up in Titan gear for every football game and pep rally.
Grimm has faced challenges while leading the student section, like reaching students in the back rows to make sure they hear the cheers and stay hyped. She strongly encourages freshmen and those standing in the back to try and follow the cheers, even if it’s harder to hear.
Showing off our titan honor is extremely important to Grimm because as she said,“ We’re just trying to make sure that everybody decks out in theme gear because we really want the student section to look great. We want to do battle of the bands and other stuff that involves having the student section be fully in gear!” For those who don’t know, Battle of the Bands is a competition where student sections compete against other schools to win the Best Student Section awards for their spirit and school pride.
Grimm said if she could change anything about the current Titan Terrors, it would be having a higher stage so they can properly reach everyone in the student section. As Grimm said, “I feel like this year seniors are really hyped, so we need to continue that throughout this school year”. In other words Keep up the good work Titans!
