Students and teachers competed in minigames on the pool deck in a watermelon eating competition, races across the pool on floaties, and diving mastery on May 24.

Dan Barnett: Began Teaching in 1994 and has been teaching for 30 years. Favorite memory teaching? “I graduated from Poway high school in 1984, so it’s just 40 years later exactly. It’s bittersweet because I feel like I am graduating again.” How have you grown through your teaching experience? “I think now I see the more human side of things, as a new teacher, it was just teaching subjects and ideas and trying to make a student smarter, but it’s more about the personality and working with the person. I think I’ve grown more to the human side where I want to help develop good people and I think thats the part I’ll miss the most.”
