Falcon and Winter Soldier Wraps up
Disney delivered again in another action-packed season finale for one of the newest Disney Plus Orgials.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier started on March 19and streamed every week on Friday until April 23. The show covers the story of Sam Wilson aka Falcon and James Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier. The show takes place six months after the events of Avengers Endgame. The show does a great job of developing both of the characters since they have mostly been side characters throughout the Marvel movies. They establish themselves as big prominent characters for future movies to come. Personally the characters have grown on me, including Baron Zemo. Even though he is a villian, he ends up a fan favorite by the end of the show.
One of the best scenes throughout the show is the one of the last when Sam Wilson gives an amazing speech about racism and borders in the world. This shows his character and how he wants the best for the world. This shows that he cares about justice and this gains the trust of Bucky Barnes fully.
The main plot of the story is about who is going to take up the mantle of Captain America since Steve Rogers has retired. There are many conflicts such as race and politics behind the shield. Sam and Bucky find themselves fighting for justice and equality. I found this to be perfect as the show does not back away from real life politics. They face social injustice straight on and focus on problems we have in society today.
One of the main points is mental illness and PTSD. Bucky Barnes suffers from depression and fear of becoming who he once was. I love that they focus on a very real world issue that many people struggle with in today’s world. They shed light on getting better however and getting help is a good way to go upon things. I like this as it was another battle Bucky had to go through throughout the show.
The Finale perfectly wrapped up their story with a very satisfying last episode. The show did so well it has been confirmed that Captain America 4 is in the works and will most likely pick up right where the show ends. I am very excited to see how they continue the story and see what the new Captain America has in store for us.
