Homecoming Done Virtually
What if someone said we can get back our homecoming that we missed during the beginning of the school year? ASB put together a virtual homecoming week Jan 25-28.
Usually, when students are on campus, the week leading up to the homecoming game and homecoming dance contains spirit days. This year ASB decided to have spirit days without the big game and school dance.
“The themes are home themed! Monday is ‘Homerun’, Tuesday is ‘No Place Like Home’ Wednesday is ‘Home on the Range’, Thursday is ‘Game of Homes’ and then no school friday,” junior Isa White said.. Because students are not on campus, spirit weeks are a way to bring Titans together virtually. On each of the days the students dress accordingly to the theme and they can upload pictures on social media.
“Homecoming week takes place from Jan 25th through the 28th” junior Sophie Chittle said.. Homecoming usually takes place during the beginning of the school year, in September or October, but it was postponed when students did not return to campus.
“It’s really exciting to see something like this happen, even if we’re virtual. I think it’ll be really fun for the students and staff,” junior Alyssa Bean said.
Because there is no Poway high homecoming the spirit week is a way to bring Titans together and to celebrate by dressing up together.
