Grand Theft Ambulance

Grand Theft Ambulance Robbing A Bank

When you have no getaway vehicle and only an ambulance is available what would you do? After robbing a bank for $32 million dollars, Will sharp, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen || and Danny Sharp, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, hijack an ambulance since they did not have a getaway driver.

The reason they robbed a bank was because Will Sharp’s wife needed money for surgery. The surgery cost $231,000. Danny is a criminal and Will is a veteran. Will came up with the idea to rob the bank so he calls Danny.

Every actor in this movie was good. Jake Gyllenhaal did an amazing job, his character was probably my favorite.

The movie plot wasn’t as good – it  didn’t really make sense, Danny, who supposedly was a 37 time bank robber, is not organized and messes up the heist.

Ambulance got a 68% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Michael Bay’s best-rated movie so far. Bay is known for using slow motion and making his movies dramatic. His other movies include Bad Boys, Transformers, and Armageddon. I am surprised that this movie had been rated a 68% when his other movies were usually 50%.

Overall, the acting in this movie was amazing, but the plot was very unreal. They hijacked an ambulance since they had no getaway driver and then saved someone’s life in the back of the ambulance. Since Danny is a criminal with a lot of experience I don’t know why he was so unorganized.

The ending was supposed to be a symbol of redemption. When a main character is shot, it was a test of trust for the characters in the movie.

I give this movie a 6/10, the acting was astounding but the plot was confusing.
