The girls’ softball team had another successful season with a record of 24-5-1. They won league with a record of 9-1. The Titans have been a force in the county for the last couple of years and this year was no exception.

“Winning league was a nice accomplishment, but from the beginning of the season the goal was a San Diego Section CIF Championship.

After loosing 7-2 to Scripps the team went on to beat Mater Dei 13-11 however lost for good against Bonita Vista 9-4.

This year the team is very young, with eight sophomores, including Paige Donnely first base, and Nora Ward outfield, who play an active role. Having a balance of young sophomores and experienced seniors has been essential for developing a team for the future while attaining current success.

Senior Colleen Sullivan was an offensive threat setting the county record for home runs. She tied the record for most home runs in a single season in the San Diego area. The catcher who is committed to UCLA accounted for a large share of the Titans’ strong offense.

Unfortunately the Titans didn’t go as far as they would’ve liked in CIF this year. They lost their second game in the third round of the double elimination tournament to Bonita Vista. The Titans are set up to succeed in the future with their core of talented young sophomores.
